Door armrest trim insert - BMW 3 series (e46) coupe/ convertible

This is a reinforced design of the door armrest trim insert from BMW 3 series E46 Coupe and Convertible.

 

Part was 3D scanned first because of the extremely tight fit. Then it was modeled and improves were implemented. Note the increased thickness on tabs and central nerve. The latter shares part of the load with the tabs in every assembly.

 

Built in Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate (ASA) with excellent mechanical properties, high heat resistance (up to 95ºC), and perfectly suited for outdoor use.

 

Unit from the images has its top face polished up to a mirror finish. I will be sending this part with a matte finish in that surface (sanded and varnished).
